And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” - Isaiah 6:8

"Trust your God-ordained dopeness!" - Pastor Sareve

Pastor Sareve Lawson was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Her mother, Jossie Gilliam, established Jericho Walkers in 2011. Under her mother’s leadership, Pastor Lawson served as a minister leading their youth outreach and utilized her degree in American Studies and Fine Arts from Muhlenberg College to lead the church’s design and multimedia efforts.

Pastor Sareve was called into leadership after her mother, Pastor Gilliam, transitioned home to be with the Lord in 2016. Choosing to follow God’s call even in a difficult season is a testament to her strength and faith in God’s perfect plan. Pastor Gilliam always ended her sermons by asking, “What is the doing of this word?” This set the foundation for Pastor Sareve’s future as she set out to build upon the work of her mother in the community and the vision from God gave her for Jericho Walkers.

Since 2016, Pastor Sareve has led the church to grow their impact in the community through new partnerships, worship/fellowship opportunities, social justice, outreach and service work. Pastor Sareve also serves as a spiritual leader to creatives, executives and thought leaders around the country. In her spare time, Sareve enjoys spending time with her blood and chosen family, god children, cats and supporting her sister, Alia Akili, in her praise and worship ministry. Pastor Sareve currently resides in Newark, New Jersey.
